I’ve Cracked the Code on SxX, Drugs and FLO
I’ve Cracked the Code on SxX, Drugs and FLO

Yes! I’ve cracked the code on dialing in bliss and FLO states.

Born a 1968 Scorpio, today another year is behind me. Despite my age, I am in the best shape of my life, both mentally and physically.

It all started with prioritizing pleasure.

What happens when you FLO?

Ever felt fully present?

That place where time is elusive, slowed. Where relevance has faded enabling complete immersion into a moment. A place to indulge a single thought.

In this siloed space, escape from distraction, the mind’s constant chatter, is possible.

Creating time and space to fall into flo states – to drop in  – comes with immense reward; heightened performance, increased creativity and profound fulfillment.

You can feel FLO. It’s a wave. Energized, focused and controlled.  In FLO your mind enters a state of heightened attention and concentration. Daily worries are transcended, performance is enhanced and actions become effortless.

With practice you can drop in, dial in, fully engage and repeat. On repeat, these routines can transform into life changing rituals.

Time: Roadblocks to ‘Dropping In’

While time may stand still in FLO, prioritizing your time is imperative. Juggling work, children, aging parents, relationships, financial woes and stress each pose a threat to indulging immersive flow states.

Timing also factors.

Wonder and empathy are often lost once childhood awe gives way to adulthood. Here the battle between the limbic system, the amygdala, and the prefrontal cortex is waged. The craving for dopamine as the amygdala drives pleasure and activates fight or flight comes just as the prefrontal cortex weighs in on self control.

This as society weighs in on shame and fear.

Breaking through the mind's defenses – roadblocks to FLO – requires awareness, commitment, practice and persistence that, ideally, leads to routines that allow you to escape, to "drop in".

Why Flo?

During flow states noise gives way to peak performance. The mind and body are in sync and present. Productivity intensifies. Studies support this.

A 10-year longitudinal study, Cranston and Keller, showed people in flow states were 500% more productive. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7551835/

Let’s Flo - The Neurochemical Dance

During FLO your mind lights up, neuroplasticity fires releasing key neurotransmitters such as dopamine, norepinephrine, anandamide, serotonin, and endorphins. These chemicals work together to enhance productivity and focus, boost creativity, improve pattern recognition, and create a sense of pleasure and motivation.

This is the dance party you do not want to miss!

Neuroplasticity and Flo

Repeatedly dropping into flow states has a profound impact on the brain’s neuroplasticity. It learns, reorganizes, adapts and builds. The structure changes and  new pathways are created enabling memories, imagination and ideas to catch and hold.

Motivated by these recurring, increasingly predictable experiences, the mind and body balance, neural connections are strengthened and new pathways are formed enhancing learning, creativity and presence.

On repeat, these repetitive, FLO induced engagements, can lead to long-term changes in the brain that further enhance and elevate performance.

SxX and Drugs Welcomed

I have spent years dialing in flow states. I bring no shame to this party.  For me, sxX and drugs are welcome.

The dance is not always intuitive. The music may vary. It is best served with a partner that knows your moves and can catch you if you fall.

This tango goes both ways. It gets better with practice.

Let the Dance Begin

Dialing in flow states, escaping to your happy place, is its own reward. The best place to start is with practices and experiences you love and yearn to revisit.

My Daily Flo Routines:

  • Orgasmic Pleasure - Sex

  • Hot Yoga - Breath Work | Meditation | Movement

  • Movement - Dance | Run | Swim

  • Creativity -  Writing | Imagining | Brainstorming

  • Elsewhere - Music | Mediation | Presence

The ability to drop quickly into FLO comes with practice. Dialed in it offers peak productivity. Practiced regularly, you can fall easily into dreams and wake up energized, happy and excited to do the dance again and again.

My Journey to Flo

While I’ve briefly tasted flow states when I was younger it was not until my 50’s that I truly cracked the code.

When I was younger fear and inexperience ruled. Time was not on my side. Between raising kids, unwilling partners and a culture that pushed religion and shame over self exploration I grew up afraid of drugs and believed self-actualization was indulgent.

I believed productivity came with hard work, with giving into frantic hours juggled between building companies and family time. I thought sleep was over rated. I reacted to every crisis and lived in denial. I thought time was on my side.

My first experience in FLO fell in my lap. I caught the wave by accident, perhaps by necessity it found me. This time I was along for the ride. While not emotionally ready to receive or understand it, I got the taste and it was palpable.

I married young, popped out kids and plowed through life. My first marriage lasted 17 years. It tore me down and apart. Denial was my happy place. No self-reflection, just frantically doing, juggling and juggling so the sky would not fall.

My mind, body, and spirit did not agree with this plan. The kids kept coming.  I raised them in my retail stores. After my third child I weighed 260+ pounds.  I wore sweat pants and maternity clothes pulled from the racks at Kangaroo Kids. I was a known parenting and breastfeeding guru running weekly support groups. The community grew, families craved a place to hang. I added Mocha Jo’s Cafe.

I raised my kids at Kangaroo Kids. I lived on cream cheese bagels and ½ and ½ lattes from Mocha Jo’s.. Without realizing it I became physically enormous. I was along for the ride with a fire extinguisher always by my side.

Then, one day, something clicked.  I was in survival mode. Somehow life got me to the local YMCA. I managed 15 minutes on the elliptical and thought I would die. I tried swimming laps and stuck with it. I created routines and before long I was running Forest Park, 7.5 miles each day - rain or shine. Before I knew it the pounds melted away, my routines changed. I went from a size 20 to 6. It was never about losing weight. I was chasing flow states without knowing what that was.

I was chasing the runner’s high, the dopamine hits, the freedom to tackle a single thought, to be fully present while elsewhere.

While exercise was beneficial the real reward came with repetition, with routinely dropping into FLO. While I did not understand it at the time, It was the consistent rush of dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine and endorphins that got me through.

Then my drugs were caffeine and sugar. Kids and companies kept me busy. I did not play with psychoactive drugs until my 2nd, pot-smoking musician husband, introduced me to cannabis. I dabbled occasionally still learning how to weave it into my hectic life.

Cannabis just made sense. It was a real alternative to alcohol. It did not kill or wake you up with a hangover depressed and angry. It had never ripped through my family tree with a destructive force.

With my kids still young, I focused my attention on building vertically integrated cannabis companies.

I was in my 50’s before I tried my first quarter hit of acid. I took to it immediately. With the six kids no longer living at home and another husband in the rear view I found my way to SxX and Drugs.

This time the timing was right. FLO was no longer elusive.

Fit to FxXK

The immersive shedding of your self-conscious self does not come easy. It comes with practice. It takes time.

oOYes – I am multi-oOrgasmic
oOYes – I am multi-oOrgasmic

It took me years to prioritize pleasure – to find oOrgasmic FLO. It required time, practice and repetition. It took a partner who journeyed with me and helped me feel safe.

We made our way free of fear and shame. We doubled down on SxX and Drugs.

Tanya’s Tips: If you have a willing partner and you are able to revolve your time and space around oOrgasmic pleasure I cannot think of a better way to practice dialing in flow states. You will each get better with practice. Dialed in, you can dance and FLO together.

Dialing in FLO

My days now revolve around dropping into FLO states. It is the secret to my productivity and success  – to bliss.  It allows me to balance my mental and physical health, my family and companies all while prioritizing oOrgasmic pleasure.

It took me years to build and learn these pathways. It started with exercise. Daily hot yoga, then running and swimming. My first experiences did not include psychoactive substances. I relied on practice and repetition. I chased the dopamine hits that come with fitness.

Once I found my way I practiced returning again and again to that essential space. I now find myself in the best shape of my life. While my good health is a positive outcome, FLO is my reward.

For me, the ultimate flow state is oOrgasmic pleasure. Here I have put in my 10,000+ hours.

Since my 50’s I have sex at least once a day. I double down on the weekends which start on Thursday evenings. With my kids grown and living on their own I now have the pleasure of bringing psychoactive drugs — cannabis and classical psychedelics — to my dance party.

Let’s Dance

By the time I got the opportunity to explore psychoactive drugs my kids were grown. I spent decades riding out ‘feast and famine’ as an entrepreneur. I knew tragedy, heartache and death. The angst and fear of new roads traveled were behind me.

Life had served to blow open my doors of perception. I was ready to explore psychoactive substances.

Shame, Shame, Shame on The War On Drugs

Drugs have always been readily available. When I grew up in the 80’s it was ditch weed, coke/crack, benzos, speed and, of course, the classical psychedelics —  LSD, Psilocybin and MDMA. While drug choices fall in and out of favor and chemical compounds evolve, human’s desire to “get high” has not changed.

Despite D.A.R.E. and repeated images of one’s brain frying like two eggs in a cast iron pan the ‘War On Drugs’ continues to push its agenda. Here we all lose. Cultures are ripped apart, families incarcerated, addiction and death skyrocked and education is lost to shame, stigmas and fear mongering. Those who operate outside the status quo are demonized and misunderstood. Paths to altered states and enlightenment are hidden from the mainstream for fear of reprisal.

Cracking the Code to FLO

The best way to dial in flow states is to find an activity you truly love. That happy, productive place you can get lost in.  Where you can immerse yourself to the point of surrender.

This requires time. Take it. Practice escaping to that essential space. Do not let fear or shame get in your way.

If you are comfortable exploring psychoactive substances, educate yourself. Find a guide or partner to journey with. Using mind altering drugs such as classical psychedelics can blow open neuroplasticity and help drop you into FLO quickly. With senses elevated, it can teach you what it means to be fully present. It can help you forge and revisit new pathways to revisit with or without the help of psychoactive substances.

Tanya’s TipsxX: When using any psychoactive substances, especially as a new user, it is important to start slow and track use. While different drugs can work well together many do not. Educate yourself.  Fear and shame are the antithesis of safe drug use. Test your drugs for safety, know their origins and contraindications.  Safe drug use starts and ends with education, tracking and proper dosage.

For a deeper dive into tracking, dosing drug use as it relates to practices, contraindications, fluctuating hormones and flow states join me in this ongoing discussion as we build WeFloYo.

Tanya's Tips: If using recreational drugs or in the company of others who do PLEASE NOTE, if you do not know each drugs origins, if they are not lab tested, there is a risk it may be laced with Fentanyl. Always Having Narcan® Nasal Spray always with you when drugs are being used can be the difference between life and death. Naloxone (Narcan®) Nasal Spray, administered during overdose can save a life.
